Every once in a while, you can get a glimpse of the past on Hamra street, when someone peels back the layers.
The movie poster above says “playing tonight at the Strand” — an old cinema shuttered for decades. But if we peel back a layer, there is an older ad for CBS:

And below that, an even older ad showing Lebanese phone numbers before the area code system was implemented, such as 01 for Beirut:

I found theses on the wall in between “Glamour” and the next shop…

Which also bears the trace of something that came before it:
